Summer Stories with Lauren Wright Photography: Boulder, Denver Photography & Creative Retreats

From tender meaningful portrait sessions in Boulder and Denver to photography retreats where artists gathered to find inspiration, this summer has been a season of presence and community. My work as a photographer is about more than images - it’s about holding a safe space for women and families to feel seen, and guiding photographers in their own creative journeys. In this post, I’m sharing full galleries so you can experience what a complete story looks like, beyond the highlights.

Summer Stories: What I’ve Been Up To

This summer has been full, beautiful, and deeply meaningful - both behind the camera and within the communities I’m building. As I look back at these past few months, I want to share not just a few highlight images, but also full galleries, so you can truly experience the depth of what a session with me feels like.

When you peek inside a full gallery, you’ll see it’s never just about the “perfect” portrait. My work is about creating a space where you can exhale, where your children can simply be, and where you feel seen and heard in this season of life.

Holding Space, Not Just Taking Pictures

Photography, for me, isn’t about directing every move or rushing through poses. It’s about presence. Vulnerability. A safe space for women and families to show up as they are.

This summer, I’ve witnessed so many quiet moments - the way a mother tucks hair behind her daughter’s ear, the way laughter bubbles out during a tickle fight, the way a family pauses, holding each other close, without needing words. These are the kinds of memories that become heirlooms, because they carry the truth of who you are together.

Beyond the Session

Many of you know me through portrait sessions, but another big part of my work is education and community. I’ve been hosting retreats with my co-host -Lindsey Eden - for photographers across the country, spaces designed for creatives to slow down, reconnect, and return to their art with fresh eyes.

This year’s retreat in Savannah was a soul-filling reminder of why I do this work. And I’m already dreaming ahead to our next one in New Orleans this September, where we’ll gather for days of connection, creativity, and care.

If you’ve ever wondered what goes into building emotionally evocative imagery, or you’ve felt drawn to creating deeper connections in your own work, the retreats and courses are where I share that side of the journey.

Why Choose Lauren?

There are many photographers offering beautiful images - but here’s what makes my work different:

  • Intentionally Emotional Motherhood Photography: I create imagery that’s not just pretty, but deeply felt - moments that hold weight and meaning for you and your family.

  • Presence & Vulnerability: My sessions are built on trust and a safe space where you can show up as yourself.

  • Education & Retreats: I don’t just create for families - I also mentor and teach other photographers, helping them step into their own creative power. This dual lens—artist and educator—enriches everything I do.

So whether you’re here for portraits, inspiration, or to join me in a retreat, my hope is always the same: to hold space for you, your story, and your becoming.

Your story deserves to be told the way you feel it: evocative, honest, true.
